Film Photography

I recently shot some black and white film photos and got to develop the negatives and print the images myself. It was so much fun to be in the darkroom and see my pictures literally appear before my eyes, but it really made me appreciate the ease of the “digital age.”

Christina and I explored Fairfield Hills and had fun looking into the windows of the old buildings and posing in the antique surroundings.

Infrared Photography at the Silo Gallery

As well as photographing the “Six Views” exhibit in a classic manner, Dennis Yates was also kind enough to capture some of our silly end-of-the-night moments in infrared. Infrared photography never ceases to amuse and inspire me with its fun and bizarre results.

Saturday evening was a wonderful night full of friends, laughter and great photography. The girls hung an amazing exhibit and got to meet many wonderful people including Ruth Henderson, who founded The Silo Gallery with her late  husband  Skitch Henderson. I am so proud of what these girls have accomplished over the course of this mentoring program, and I hope you enjoy some of the highlights below. The exhibit runs through January 30th with gallery hours: Wed – Sat 10-5 and Sun 12-5. Please visit~  http://www.hunthillfarmtrust.org/  for more information.

Please join us for the opening of a wonderful photography exhibit at The Silo Gallery in New Milford that features the work of six high-school seniors: Casey Hill, Olivia Cookfair, Melissa Destefano, Alexandra Sweeney, Casey Rose Kearns, and Kathryn Scribner. Laurie Klein (www.laurieklein.com) and I have mentored these talented young ladies for the past few months as they have explored photography as a craft and as an art form.

The show runs from January 15th-30th with the opening reception: Saturday January 15th from 3-5pm.
The event is free to the public and light appetizers will be provided by the Silo Cooking School as well as wines by Hopkins Vineyard. There will also be a gallery talk held at The Silo, led by Laurie, myself and the mentoring students on Sunday January 23d, from 2-4 pm.
